Performance Numbers of MVAPICH2 on opteron Platform (09/14/07)

• Experimental Testbed: Each node of our testbed has Sun Fire x2100 servers with dual 2.2 Ghz processors with 1024 KB L2 cache. Each node also has 2 Gigabyte memory and PCI-Express bus. They are equipped with MT25208 HCAs with PCI-Ex interfaces. An Silverstorm 5000 switch is used to connect all the nodes. The operating system used was OpenSolaris (build version 33). Sun Studio 10 compilers were used.

• MVAPICH2 currently delivers one-sided put latency of 7.66 microseconds , one-sided get latency of 16.61 microseconds for 4 bytes, one-sided put bandwidth up to 981 Million Bytes/sec, one-sided get bandwidth up to 981 Million Bytes/sec and bidirectional bandwidth upto 1902 Million Bytes/sec on the above testbed. (1 Mega Byte = 1,048,576 Bytes; 1 Million Byte = 1,000,000 Bytes)
