Performance Numbers of MVAPICH-PSM on em64t Platform (02/28/08)

• Experimental Testbed: Each node of our testbed has a dual processor (2.33 GHz quad-core) and 4 GB main memory. The CPUs support the EM64T technology and run in 64 bit mode. The nodes support 8x PCI Express interfaces and are equipped with InfiniPath-QLE7140 HCAs with PCI Express interfaces. Mellanox 24-port SDR switch was used to connect the two nodes. The operating system used was RedHat Linux AS4. InfiniPath Software Release 2.1 was used to build the MVAPICH. InfiniPath MPI is the MPI included in the InfiniPath Software Release 2.1.

• MVAPICH-PSM currently delivers one-way latency of 2.20 microseconds for 4 bytes, unidirectional bandwidth upto 934 Million Bytes/sec and bidirectional bandwidth upto 1464 Million Bytes/sec on the above testbed. (1 Mega Byte = 1,048,576 Bytes; 1 Million Byte = 1,000,000 Bytes)
